t²-1², yep

2nd one
n²-15², yep

3rd one is not difffernce

4th one can be forced into p²-(2√10)², but I wouldn't say it is

5) The scale on google maps is
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

9/2 inches or 4 1/2

Step-by-step explanation: Try to find the unit rate FIRST. Divide 2 on both sides and you will get that ONE INCH = 3/2 miles.

Since you need to know the distance for 3 inches, MULTIPLY both SIDES by 3, and you will get 3 INCHES = 9/2 MILES.

What is the distance between the points (-1, 3) and (8, 3) in the coordinate plane?
mart [117]
To calculate the distance between two points, use the Distance Formula. The Distance Formula: √((x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²), where x₁, x₂, y₁, and y₂ are the x- and y-values of two given coordinates. The given coordinates are (-1, 3) and (8, 3). Let's plug them in and solve.

√((x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²)
√((-1 - 8)² + (3 - 3)²)
√((-9)² + (0)²)
√(81 + 0)
√81
9

Answer:

What is the effect of multiplying both sides of an inequality by a negative number? Explain and give an example.
tester [92]

Answer: You would swap the ineqaulity

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiplying or dividing both sides by a negative number reverses the inequality. This means < changes to >, and vice versa. For example, given that 5 < 8 we can multiply both sides by 6 to obtain 30 < 48 which is still true.
