Water pollution can reduce economic growth by a third. Clean water is a key factor for economic growth. Deteriorating water quality is stalling economic growth, worsening health conditions, reducing food production, and exacerbating poverty in many countries. The problem with increased pressure on drinking water resources can be prevented with water conservation methods and prevention of further water pollution. ... The rain washes them off into the soil though which they reach groundwater which is the only source of drinking water worldwide. To reduce water pollution, DO NOT pour fat from cooking or any other type of fat, oil, or grease down the sink. Keep a “fat jar” under the sink to collect the fat and discard in the solid waste when full. DO NOT dispose of household chemicals or cleaning agents down the sink or toilet.
