I don't know if I'm doing this problem right. I did 24 minus 10 and got 14 for the height to the right, and then I did 16 minus

11 and got 5 for the base of the triangle. I don't know how to find the height or how to find the total area.

If u divide it up into a rectangle square and triangle and add the area of each shape u get your answer. so for the triangle do 5•8•(1/2)=20 and the square is 6•5=30 and the rectangle would be 10•16=160 so add all the areas and you get 210.

The height of the triangular piece will be 24-6-10= 8
Area of triangle = (1/2)*8*5= 20
Large bottom rectangle = 16*10= 160
Middle rectangle = 6*5= 30
Add them together to get total 160+ 20+ 30 = 210 m^2

A guitar string is plucked at a distance of 0.6 centimeters above its resting position and then released, causing vibration. The
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

The equation that represents the motion of the string is given by:

y =Ae^{-kt}\cos(2\pi ft)     .....[1] where t represents the time in second.

Given that: A = 0.6 cm (distance above its resting position) , k = 1.8(damping constant) and frequency(f) = 105 cycles per second.

Substitute the given values in [1] we get;

y =0.6e^{-1.8t}\cos(2\pi 105t)

or

y =0.6e^{-1.8t}\cos(210\pi t)

(a)

The trigonometric function that models the motion of the string is given by:

y =0.6e^{-1.8t}\cos(210\pi t)

(b)

Determine the amount of time t that it takes the string to be damped so that -0.24\leq y \leq0.24

Using graphing calculator for the equation

y =0.6e^{-1.8x}\cos(210\pi x)

let x = t (time in sec)

Graph as shown below in the attachment:

we get:

the amount of time t that it takes the string to be damped so that -0.24\leq y \leq0.24 is, 0.5 sec

A town has a population of 13000 and grows at 2.5% every year. What will be the
amid [387]

Answer:

14708

Step-by-step explanation:

The growth factor is 100% + 2.5% = 102.5% = 1.025

Population after 5 years

= 13000 × (1.025)^{5}

≈ 14708 ( to the nearest whole number )

Which equation represents a line that intersects the line 2y − 4x = 3? A.-2y + 4x = 1 B. 3y − 6x = 6.5 C. y − 2x = 3 D. -2y − 4x
irga5000 [103]
Convert all the equations to slope-intercept form:
2y-4x=3 \ \ \ |+4x \\
2y=4x+3 \ \ \ |\div 2 \\
y=2x+\frac{3}{2}

A. \\
-2y+4x=1 \ \ \ |-4x \\
-2y=-4x+1 \ \ \ |\div (-2) \\
y=2x-\frac{1}{2} \\ \\
B. \\
3y-6x=6.5 \ \ \ |+6x \\
3y=6x+6.5 \ \ \ |\div 3 \\
y=2x+\frac{13}{6}

C. \\
y-2x=3 \ \ \ |+2x \\
y=2x+3 \\ \\
D. \\
-2y-4x=3 \ \ \ |+4x \\
-2y=4x+3 \ \ \ |\div (-2) \\
y=-2x-\frac{3}{2}

Lines A, B and C have the same slope as the line 2y-4x=3, so they are parallel and don't intersect it.
Line D has another slope, so it intersects the line 2y-4x=3.
The answer is D.
