Having a special talent or ability that must be concealed, hidden, or refrained from for the safety of yourself or others is a downside of having an ability. Think Violet Parr in "The Incredibles." Her only goal is to enjoy her life and social interests, yet she is hiding an ability she hasn't had the chance to master and it is a social impairment.
