I don't think A is correct. It states directly that Franklin was a hero. I don't think hero is quite the right word. On the other hand, signing the Declaration did make him heroic; the Declaration was Treason, or the British would have thought so. Still I believe D is the better answer.

B is simply wrong. Heroic and Important are very strong words.

C I don't see that any language is inappropriate for someone that reads well. In fact, the Declaration for example, is something every American should read. It is important to know why someone is an American.

I'll stick with D.
