The British were engaged in war with France (the most powerful nation on Earth), Spain, a declining superpower, as well as conquering India, tussling with China and Turkey, and the odd spatt with Holland as well.

The Colonies began to build ships which were better than the British and which were manned by volunteers who were keen and eager and skilled too. They also only fought along their own coastline while the British had to come all the way from Europe to fight, although they had ports and cities in what is today known as Canada.

A great source of some of the differences can be found in literature. Two books I heartily recommend are (very reasonably) historically accurate novels from two very different authors, one who is a Brit who lives in the US today.

Read the excerpt from Suffragists' "Great Demand" Banner.
Llana [10]

The Great Demand banner:

From 1914 to 1917 a large number of women stood up to protest in America for their right to vote. They started rallies and in those rallies they used a banner which was labelled as ‘The Great Demand’ banners.

Moving towards the excerpt, The details "cold, pouring rain" and "silent vigil" provide a vivid description. It gives us a very detailed and clear information of how one thousand women despite such severe weather conditions stood before the white house.

Later, as the author describes about the campaign, his dictation emphasizes the women’s persistence. He states that how even after so many years, women were still persistent enough to achieve equality.

What are the three goals of a thesis
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

A thesis statement makes a promise to the reader about the scope, purpose, and direction of the paper. It summarizes the conclusions that the writer has reached about the topic. A thesis statement is generally located near the end of the introduction.

Explanation:

The thesis statement has 3 main parts: the limited subject, the precise opinion, and the blueprint of reasons. The limited subject tells the reader exactly on what, or whom the article focuses. The precise opinion gives your answer to a question about the subject.
