(a) 7/10
the portion of states that have a four star hotel compared to how many states there are uses the fraction 35/50. You must simplify this, and to do this you find the greatest value with can divide the numerator and the denominator. This is 5. 35/5=7, and 50/5= 10, therefore, 7/10

(b) 15
simply subtract the number of states which have a four star hotel from the total number of states

(c) 3/10
this is the same logic as (a). use the answer you got from part b, and simplify the fractions

Solve for the roots in simplest form using the quadratic formula:<br> 4x2 + 4x = -5
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Move all terms to one side

4x^2 + 4x + 5 = 0

Plug into quadratic formula

x = (-4 <u>+</u> \sqrt{16 - 4(4)(5)}) / 2(4)

  = (-4 <u>+</u> \sqrt{-64})/8

At this point, there are no real answers. The roots to this equation are complex.

x = (-4 <u>+</u> 8i)/8

  = (-1 <u>+</u> 2i)/2

Math help questions <br>
Evgen [1.6K]

After 1 year, the initial investment increases by 7%, i.e. multiplied by 1.07. So after 1 year the investment has a value of $800 × 1.07 = $856.

After another year, that amount increases again by 7% to $856 × 1.07 = $915.92.

And so on. After t years, the investment would have a value of \$800 \times 1.07^t.

We want the find the number of years n such that

\$856 \times 1.07^n = \$1400

Solve for n :

856 \times 1.07 ^n = 1400

1.07^n = \dfrac74

\log_{1.07}\left(1.07^n\right) = \log_{1.07}\left(\dfrac74\right)

n \log_{1.07}(1.07) = \log_{1.07} \left(\dfrac74\right)

n = \log_{1.07} \left(\dfrac74\right) = \dfrac{\ln\left(\frac74\right)}{\ln(1.04)} \approx \boxed{8.3}

Solve the triangle.<br><br> B = 36°, a = 38, c = 18
vovikov84 [41]
Using cosine law.

b= sqrt(38^2 + 18^2 - 2(38)(18) Cos 36)
using calculator solve.
b = sqrt (1444 + 324 - 1106.75)
b = 25.75
