C. just before the end of World War II
United Nations was formed in 1945 on 26th October just as the World War II ended. This platform was a successor of the failed League of Nations, to ensure international cooperation between all the countries. And it was also created to keep another devastating World war from happening. This was initially hard for the UN because of the ensuing Cold War between the Soviet Union and the US.
Soon the UN's budget for developmental and social reforms was more than peacekeeping.
Evaluations of the effectiveness of the assurance of world peace by the UN has always received mixed criticism.

Summarize some of the social impacts European colonies and/or trading posts had on local beliefs and practices
evablogger [386]

Answer:

They spread religion, rules with over the local population, demanded allegiance to the monarchy of the European country and used their primary resources.

Explanation:

The spread of Christianity was an important reason for people to move to these colonies. The land gained was a part of the European country and as such, the European countries would take the raw materials for their benefit. Europeans, after the scientific revolution, were often more advanced with technology and weapons, leading to their dominance in the colony. Often crops were brought back to Europe and introduced there successfully. In doing so they disrupted the society as people lost their land, culture, language, resources, social hierarchy and community.

Describe What You See in the Placard
Alina [70]

Answer:

What I see in the picture.

Laborers in an African setting (based on color of skin and climate) sorting what is most probably agricultural produce into some sort of a pyramid arrangement. These goods will most likely be shipped to Europe.

Cause ⇒ Need for Raw materials

With the Industrial Revolution having taken full force in Europe, countries needed more raw materials in order to keep producing both new and old goods in order to make lives better for their people and gain an economic edge over their rivals.

They therefore colonized Africa to get to these raw materials when they realized that there was an abundance on the continent. The picture above shows some of the raw materials that is to be shipped to Europe.

What was the impact of imperialism for Africans?
finlep [7]

The term "imperialism" is also widely used to refer to the colonization process in Africa, Asia and Oceania, which began in the second half of the 19th century. This process is also known among historians as neocolonialism.

Imperialism was very strong in the world, during the period mentioned (between 1884 and 1914), but the presence of Europeans as colonizers in Africa and Asia occurred until the second half of the 20th century. Imperialism left serious consequences in these places, such as:

The demarcation of artificial borders has had negative impacts in Africa to date and has caused numerous tensions between African nations.

During neocolonialism, a series of ethnic disputes arose influenced by European action. One of the most notable cases occurred in Rwanda, a region that had been part of the Belgian Congo. In 1994, a major massacre took place in the country, and Hutus were responsible for the death of approximately 1 million Tutsis.

Economic exploitation has left profound marks, and even today, the absolute majority of African countries suffer from unstable economies.

The natives were subjected to harsh violence. A notable case was in the Belgian Congo, when 10 million people died as a result of the colonial violence of the Belgians.
