By the 4th century Britain's prosperity, which was the result of a mild climate and centuries of peaceful life, became bait for the greedy. At first German tribes staged only raids on Britain, but after 430 A.D. They began to settle there. Conquerors led their kind of powerful Germanic tribes-Saxons, angles. Migration Anglo-Saxons gave Britain a new name-England. The power of Anglo-Saxon culture is evident to this day. Anglo-Saxons founded many kingdoms, the names of some still exist in the form of names of areas: Essex (Essex = East Saxons), Sussex (Sussex = South Saxons), Wessex (Wessex = West Saxons), Middlesex (Middlesex = Probably the Kingdom of Middle Saxons) , East Anglia = East Angles. By the middle of the seventh century the strongest were the three largest kingdoms-Northumbria, Mercia and Wessex.

Why do you think slavery lasted so long in the American south
Natalka [10]

The South had fertile soil great for growing crops such as tobacco, cotton, etc. This led to there being many plantations and a small amount of available labor. So to resolve this issue, they brought in slaves to help their economy. Without slaves the economy would have really suffered. The reason there was so many slaves in the south was because again, the south had a good climate for growing crops while the other areas did not
