In the 1700's-1800's the African American race was always looked at as the bottom of the food chain.

And these incidents continued to stay in the society until about the mid of 20th century, when marches, riots and boycotts happened.

By this time black people in America started to get noticed with people like Martin Luther King Jr, Joe Lewis and Jackie Robinson pacing the route for blacks and making all possible opportunities for African Americans living today.

African Americans make up 12.3 percent of the United States population and comprise 14.3 percent of the population in Southern non metropolitan countries.
