Hello!

To find the area of a triangle, first multiply the base by the height. Afterwards, divide the product by 2.

Base: The bottom side of the triangle.
Height: The distance from the bottom to the top of the triangle.

Base = 13
Height = 18.2

13 × 18.2 = 236.6

Now we do the final step, which is to divide by 2.

236.6 ÷ 2 = 118.3

118.3 is your answer.

But why do we divide the product of the base and the height by 2? This is because a triangle is recognized as half of a rectangle/square.

I think it should be 118.3 the equation is base times height divided by two equals the area

Ricardo has <u>16</u><u> golf balls</u>, to begin with. He started out with 16, and lost 6, 16 - 6 = 10. He bought 12 golf balls, 10 + 12 = 22. He lost 4 golf balls, 22 - 4 = 18. So in the end, he has 18.

What is the x-intercept of the equation whose line is 3x + 10y = 36?
vladimir2022 [97]
For this case we have the following linear equation:
 3x + 10y = 36&#10;
 The intersection with the x axis occurs when the value of y is equal to zero.
 We then have to replace y = 0 in the equation:
 3x + 10 (0) = 36&#10;
 Rewriting:
 3x + 0 = 36&#10;&#10;3x = 36
 Clearing x we have:
 x = 36/3&#10;&#10;x = 12
 Answer:

The x-intercept of the equation whose line is 3x + 10y = 36 is:

x = 12

How to do this help please
andre [41]

Answer:

y = - \frac{8}{15} x + \frac{289}{15}

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle between the tangent and the radius at point P is 90°

Calculate the slope of the radius m using the slope formula

m = (y₂ - y₁ ) / (x₂ - x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (0, 0) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (8, 15)

m = \frac{15-0}{8-0} = \frac{15}{8}

Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_{perpendicular} = - \frac{1}{m} = - \frac{1}{\frac{15}{8} } = - \frac{8}{15}, thus

y = - \frac{8}{15} x + b ← is the partial equation

To find b substitute (8, 15) into the partial equation

15 = - \frac{64}{15} + b ⇒ b = 15 + \frac{64}{15} = \frac{289}{15}

y = - \frac{8}{15}  x + \frac{289}{15} ← equation of tangent
