The impact of ancient Rome on western civilization cannot be hibernated. Though it has been thousands of years since the reign of the Roman Empire, but the traces are still evident in today's world. Some of the notable impacts can be found in today's architecture, arts, laws, engineering, constructions, languages etc. It is said that the Latin language, which was spoken by the Romans, went as far as Western Europe and many languages emerged from Latin. These languages are called the "Romance languages." They include Spanish, French, Italian, Romanian and Portuguese. As a result of this, over 800 million people around the world speak a Romance language.
