Answer:

Heya! short answer work be the reform in Parliament, Suffragettes, worker's rights, Education and Social Welfare. So, let me elaborate now.

Explanation:

Most of the reforms implemented by the British government during the 19th century, was in order to stifle the action of civil unrest or revolution of the general population due to dissatisfaction due to the standards of living.

Parliamentary Reforms:

  • The 1832 Reform act: Giving the middle classes the right to vote.
  • The 1867 Reform Act: Gave the voting right to every adult male. He required to be a householder living in town.
  • The 1872 Secret Ballot Act: Gave poor male farmers of 25 years old  in the countryside the vote, and re-organized the electoral areas

The Suffragettes:

In 1903 the Women's Social Political Union, founded by Emmeline Pankhurst, was founded in order to demand the vote for women. They were called Suffragettes by the Daily Mail in 1906, they were fierce activists and even thought the cause was justifies, acts of violence like setting buildings on fire took place.

It was in 1914, when the First World War started. For this reason many women took jobs in fields usually undertaken by males, since men had to go and face war.

Thus at the end of the war period, allowed by a new bill, allowed women of age 30 the right of vote.

Worker’s Rights:

In 1871 Trade Unions for Skilled Workers gained strength, in 1875 the Conspiracy and Protection of Property Act, was approved and allowed workers the workers to picket and strike peacefully.

The thorough the 1880s Unions were also established for unskilled workers who started striking in demand of better condition's

Education:

In 1870 the Education Act, allowed all children to gain access to basic education.

How do the Reconstruction Amendments help explain the status of the men in the image?
sweet [91]

Answer:

The 14th Amendment granted the men citizenship, making it possible for them to run for office, while the 15th Amendment allowed African American men to vote for their representatives.

Explanation:

The 13th Amendment ended slavery, but further protection of African Americans was needed after centuries of discrimination. Congress passed the 14th Amendment, which granted African American citizenship. However, many states considered this too radical and opposed. The federal government took action over those states and realized that even with citizenship, African Americans endured discrimination and had little political rights and representation.

Then in 1869, Congress, led by the Republicans, passed the 15th amendment, which made it abundantly clear that all citizens regardless of skin color or ethnicity could vote.
