What were the influences of the roman republic on the us government
notsponge [240]
Since the US government is considered a republic democracy, it has many characteristics of the Roman Republic. In Rome, the officials were voted by the people. And these officials made laws and voted them. In the US government, the people vote in representatives to represent them in office. These officials vote in laws to be past, just like the Roman people did in their government.

Read President Bush's address to the nation 9/11 speech. It was the speech he gave after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Please r
AveGali [126]

Answer:

Explanation:

I don't think it's possible to make a bad speech about 9/11. I married an American who was at home getting ready to go to work when it happened. We don't watch television. We're both too busy. But we have one. I phoned home at somewhere around 8:00 or 9:00 and told her she could be a little late, but she had to turn on the TV. She didn't want to do but I insisted. So she did it.  I saw her an hour later. There were streak marks coming away from her eyes.

She didn't say much. She just said "Who would want to do that? Why did they do it?"

That's basically all she had to say.

President Bush was saying much the same thing. In general that's the way most people responded. There was shock and there were tears. The indignation and anger came later.  But for a bit, everybody was a New Yorker trying to make out what happened. Trying to sympathize.

Just trying to feel the horror that befell them.

What is the breakdown of the ethnicity of voting members of the 115th Congress
Misha Larkins [42]

Almost one-in-five voting members of the House and Senate are a racial or ethnic minority, making the 115th U.S. Congress the most diverse in history. And while Congress as a whole remains  disproportionately white when compared with the U.S. population, the racial and ethnic profile of newly elected members more closely resembles the increasingly diverse populace, according to a Pew Research Center analysis.

Overall, nonwhites (including blacks, Hispanics, Asians/Pacific Islanders and Native Americans) make up 19% of the current Congress. By comparison, nonwhite Hispanics and other racial minorities make up 38% of the nation’s population.

Minorities, however, account for 20 of 59 new members (34%) of the House and Senate. This represents a notable jump over the 114th Congress, when just 11 of 71 new members (15%) were aracial or ethnic minority and the Senate had no newly elected minority members. This year, three freshman senators are a racial or ethnic minority, along with 17 new members of the House.  hope this helps
