lozanna [386]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You did not include any particular reference so we do not know the documents you include as reference.

However, trying to help you we can comment on the following.

It is correct to say that the "Gilded Age" usually refers to business and worker interests in the period after Reconstruction to about 1900.

The aspect of the farmers’ experiences during this time that is similar is that they suffer many problems and tribulations during the Gilded Age, as was the case of the workers that labored in the big industries in the larger cities such as New York, Chicago, or Pittsburgh.

The American farmers were living in deep debt during the Gilded Age. They knew they had the risk of losing their properties and farms due to that debt. It was a time when the prices of the crops were down, making things worse. Another issue was the price railroads charged to transport their crops. It was too expensive for farmers.

During this Gilded Age, corruption actions in the government allowed the creation of monopolies as was the case of the Standard Oil Company owned by John D. Rockefeller or the US Steel Company owned by Andrew Carnegie.

I think it was D. Basically the US sent South Vietnam troops because they feared Vietnam would become communist, which would spread to the rest of Asia. The US sent supply and materials to South Vietnam to help the spread. I don't know if the answer that best suits that is D, but that's what I would say.

What led to approval of the Columbia bastion reclamation project
Lesechka [4]
Roosevelt authorized the dam project with National Industrial Recovery act money. (It was later specifically authorized by the Rivers and Harbors act of 1935, and then reauthorized by the Columbia Basin Project act of 1943 which put it under the Reclamation Project act of 1939.)

How do maps help us understand the development of civilizations and how agriculture influenced the process?
Allushta [10]

Answer:

ExplaOverview

The term civilization refers to complex societies, but the specific definition is contested.

The advent of civilization depended on the ability of some agricultural settlements to consistently produce surplus food, which allowed some people to specialize in non-agricultural work, which in turn allowed for increased production, trade, population, and social stratification.

The first civilizations appeared in locations where the geography was favorable to intensive agriculture.

Governments and states emerged as rulers gained control over larger areas and more resources, often using writing and religion to maintain social hierarchies and consolidate power over larger areas and populations.

Writing allowed for the codification of laws, better methods of record-keeping, and the birth of literature, which fostered the spread of shared cultural practices among larger populations.

Degrees of complexity

Today, almost every city has a supermarket with a wide variety of available foods. We take for granted the fact that people have different types of jobs and that governments exist. But, reliable food sources, specialized work, and governments did not exist for most of human history! They are the products of historical processes that began with the first civilizations several thousand years ago.

A civilization is a complex society that creates agricultural surpluses, allowing for specialized labor, social hierarchy, and the establishment of cities. Developments such as writing, complex religious systems, monumental architecture, and centralized political power have been suggested as identifying markers of civilization, as well. When we see these changes occur, we should stop and ask, “Did people institute these practices because they were beneficial, or were they forced on them?” Historians debate this very question, trying to determine whether civilization was a bottom-up or top-down development.^1
