A. It shows resentment.

The speaker is not trying to be funny or show that teaching is the most challenging and noble profession. While the tone is negative, the poet does not say that he doesn't like his students. In fact he says that if he gave them everything he had and saved nothing for himself, then he would hate them. But he doesn't do this, and thus saves some strength for himself. In the poem he is resenting have to drag the students like hounds through curriculum that they dislike.
