Answer:

The Kite Runner is the first novel written by Afghan-American author Khaled Hosseini that was first published in 2003. The book tells the story of a young boy living in a district of Kabul.

The character of Assef personifies the villain within the story, he is a Talib official who takes an orphan boy named Sohrab to his home where he humiliates him and sexually abuses him. Assef's actions spouts hated his necessity of instilling fear in others, often children and people that are weaker and has no power in comparison to him.
