Wealthier immigrants would have been able to make better lives for themself because their money would’ve given them opportunities the poorer immigrants would not have. Overpopulation also affected immigrant life as well as housing issues and the most pressing of all, discrimination. Besides being new to the land and unable to really speak the language in North America and coming from different economic statuses, they also had to deal with racism, prejudice, and even religious discrimination due to the heavy Protestant population at the time.
