The first meeting between two leaders was held in November 1985 in Geneva, Switzerland. two leaders met to talk on the diplomatic ties between two countries and talk on the arms race.

However, the first meeting was not successful as soviet leader Michael Gorbachev stated that Americans do not trust them and their rulers are not making it easy.

Ronald Reagan the American president countered his statement by saying soviets are acting aggressively towards Americans.

Cold-War came to an End in 1989 after the disintegration of the soviet union and it also marked the end of Arms Race between the United States and soviet union.
