Yes, you can have a triangle with any given lengths.

The answer is yes because the two shorter sides, 20 and 22, add together to be greater than the longest side, 24. If they added together to be equal to or less than 24 it would NOT be a triangle.

Answer:

Shaded area is 55 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

Ignoring the white cutout, we have a rectangle of length 10 and width 7 (count the squares in each direction).  The area of this larger rectangle is

(10 units)(7 units) = 70 units².  The white area that we previously ignored has dimensions 3 by 5 units, and thus an area of 15 units²

Subtract the latter from the former, obtaining the net area

70 units² - 15 units² = 55 units²

Sav [38]

a_1=2,\ a_2=\dfrac{1}{2},\ a_3=\dfrac{1}{8};\ a_4=\dfrac{1}{32}\\\\r=\dfrac{a_2}{a_1}=\dfrac{a_3}{a_2}=\dfrac{a_4}{a_3}=...\\\\r=\dfrac{\frac{1}{2}}{2}=\dfrac{\frac{1}{8}}{\frac{1}{2}}=\dfrac{\frac{1}{32}}{\frac{1}{8}}=\dfrac{1}{4}\\\\\boxed{a_1=2;\qquad a_n=\dfrac{1}{4}\cdot a_{n-1}}
