In at least two well developed paragraph’s identify a novel a poem or a film that is greatly influenced by its historical contex
irinina [24]
Well, here, at the least, are some suggestions of novels that are very much based in historical contexts and brief explanations:

Their Eyes Were Watching God (Zora Neale Hurston): Hurston expands upon African American success in the United States. It follows a young black woman who is looking for love and it is written in black vernacular which, while at points hard to read, allows for a better insight into the minds of African Americans during this time period. (another good one to look into is Beloved)

Ghosts (Henrik Ibsen) (or any other of his plays): Ibsen's one of my favorite authors at least. In his play, Ghosts, Ibsen writes about a mother and son relationship primarily (though there are many other attributes prevalent throughout the story). In particular, Ibsen writes about syphilis in a way that dramatically reflects the era in which he wrote. He avoids saying what the illness the character has due to the stigma that even mentioning the name brings among audiences of the time. Instead, he cleverly alludes to it. Furthermore, Ibsen contrasts the belief that women are to be owned (particularly that a women should rely on her father, and that women are unable to hold estates). Religion is also expanded upon. While these topics are brought up, many of them serve to contrast the beliefs of the time.

Animal Farm/1984 (George Orwell): Fairly simple to talk about. Orwell talks about the nature of the Soviet Union's revolution (Animal Farm) and takes on an outside perspective as well as an internal perspective. 1984 is where the concept Big Brother came from and is another interesting and relevant read.

Slaughterhouse 5 (Kurt Vonnegut): Vonnegut is another of my favorite authors because he tackles war with such precision. His story is not only based around the historical setting and surroundings of WWII but it talks about the way people thought about it and the way that PTSD has an effect on the people who served in the war.

Great Gatsby: Great Gatsby is rife with connections to the Lost Generation and to the 1920s. In particular, the way that women are portrayed in the novel and the way in which Gatsby is written as a member of the lost generation to some extent, can be expanded upon.

jarptica [38.1K]
I would go with answer C here. I would choose C because if he’s explaining about his business and the people at the presentation said he sometimes came off as aggressive and needed to clearly convey information, then using charts and graphs would benefit him the most because he would have statistics from the last five years as a comparison to his business currently.

Arrange the events from Beowulf in the correct order. Tiles Beowulf waits for Grendel to attack Heorot. Beowulf sets out on his
Elan Coil [88]

1. Beowulf sets out on his journey for Daneland

When Hrothgar asks Beowulf to come to his country to help him, Beowulf doesn't hesitate. Beowulf's father was close friends with Hrothgar, so he felt like he owed the king something, and he couldn't say no to his pleas for help. That's why he gathered his men and went to Daneland.

2. Hrothgar welcomes Beowulf

Once Beowulf arrives in Daneland, he is greeted by Hrothgar and his family and men. There is a huge feast to celebrate the arrival of a famous hero because now everyone can somehow relax now they know they will be safe soon, from the monster Grendel.

3. Beowulf waits for Grendel to attack Heorot

Beowulf and his men pretend to be asleep in Heorot (Hrothgar's castle) and wait for Grendel to arrive. Once he does, Beowulf and his men attack the monster, and manage to hurt him. Beowulf rips out one of his arms before he manages to escape to his den.

4. Beowulf succeeds in defeating Grendel by decapitating him

However, Grendel doesn't get far - he is bleeding profusely from his wound, and he crashes in the forest. Beowulf manages to catch up with him, and decides to kill the monster by ripping his head off with his bare hands. Thus, the threat is eliminated.

5. Beowulf fights with Grendel's mother

Even though he thought there is no threat anymore, it turns out he was wrong. Grendel's mother was also alive and she was angry because her son was dead. Therefore, Beowulf has to fight with her as well, before she can manage to hurt Hrothgar and his people.

6. Beowulf sets out for his Geatish homeland

Once he's killed both Grendel and his mother, he can safely return to his home country where he will be celebrated as an even more famous hero. However, when Hrothgar dies, he goes back to Daneland to become king there, instead of his own country.

7. Beowulf sets out for his fight with the dragon

This is Beowulf's final battle - he has to defeat the dragon that is threatening his kingdom. Beowulf is very old now, but he still wants to protect his people. He manages to wound the dragon, but the dragon manages to kill him. One of his men, Wiglaf, is tasked with defeating the dragon afterwards.
