A. India

In exploitation colonialism, the goal is to exploit a country's natural resources, absorbing all wealth and keeping a situation of underdevelopment. Normally this type of colonialism is contrasted to settler colonialism where people from the conquering nation establish not only trade posts but settlements and soon or later they displace the original native populations.

The Colonial power profits from the situation of asymmetry: (unequal circumstances in economic, political and historical that result in disadvantageous relationships for a colony)

The Britsh Empire had many colonies, in the case of India. It established a policy of exploitation, where they ruled for over 2 centuries leaving some lasting consequences:

Initially starting trade with India, the British demanded payment for administration in several forms: payment of English officers, debt, etc.

-This way the English created a Managing Agency System where they kept a major portion of the profits.

-They forced India for paying costs of British wars and expeditions that were against India's national interest and didn't benefit India at all.

-A continuous stance of underdevelopment kept, as India remained a source of raw materials agriculture was on the interest of Great Britain.

- The formation of a very small elite and privileged class that cooperates with the colonial government and prevents the distribution of wealth among the rest of the society.

- A strong hierarchy develops where the base of the population works in production and manufacturing and never manages to fully develop independently.

This would be A. India

exploitation colony was not a colony for settlers, which means that the colonisers were not planning to live in this colony ( as in B, and D) but only wanted it's minerals and the work of the indigenous population
