In "The Tall Woman and Her Short Husband" weight is put on Mrs. Tall by a showdown among her and the Tailor's better half. The Tailor's significant other from what the perusers see of her is nosey and inquisitive about what goes on in Mr. Short and Mrs. Tall's relationship. I believe it's down to some type of desire. She doesn't care for what the two of them have and shares in their relationship.  

By the peruser knowing how the Tailor's better half says things, it gives them an image of the circumstance and the tone of what is being said. This shows how a character is being put under strain. This part in the story truly permits seeing what the Tailor's significant other is about.
