In Sotomayor's lecture A Latina judge voice, the main idea is that "our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging." She, as a Latin woman judge, quotes several statistics of women and people of color in the American Judiciary system to show how much improvement there has been made and remains to be made. Since "there is no objective stance but only a series of perspectives - no neutrality, no escape from choice in judging", unbiased is impossible, a more diverse set of judges with differents backgrounds and experiences would do a better work in judging such a diverse society as the American is. She will try to "judge when those opinions, sympathies and prejudices are appropriate", when her background, cultural heritage and experience are so, as the Supreme Court suggests.

Sample Response: The central idea of Sotomayor’s speech is that ethnic diversity is important to America, yet sometimes we live in a way that does not honor our nation’s diversity. Sotomayor consistently cites the importance of her diverse upbringing, showing a clear love for cultural identity. She uses statistics and facts to demonstrate the lack of diversity in judgeships. Sotomayor also declares how important her diversity is in inspiring the way she lives her life.

Who is someone that would have been considered a heroic figure during this time period? What did they do that was heroic?
Basile [38]

In complete honesty, Hitler. I'm not saying what he did was good, he was crazy and never should of done that. I am also not saying that I think he was a hero...he wasn't.

I choose Hitler because to some (the Nazi party) hated that the Jewish were taking there jobs and invading there country. So by stepping up and killing them, some thought he was a hero or he was heroic.

C=5/9(F−32)

C=5/9F−5/9(32)

Answer=D

you can see the slope of the graph is 5/9, which means that for an increase of 1 degree Fahrenheit, the increase is 5/9 of 1 degree Celsius. Therefore, statement I is true. This is the equivalent to saying that an increase of 1 degree Celsius is equal to an increase of 9/5 degrees Fahrenheit. Since 95 = 1.8, statement II is true. On the other hand, statement III is not true, since a temperature increase of 9/5 degrees Fahrenheit, not 5/9 degree Fahrenheit, is equal to a temperature increase of 1 degree Celsius
