Children have fewer responsibilities in school as compared to when they are in college. In school, children have to be more responsible for their learning whereas, at university, children are not closely monitored or directed by the lecturers in “what” and “how” to learn.

Further Explanation:

Children have more “freedom” whether they attend classes/lectures or not or whether take notes or not. Students will be assessed and at least clear and pass their set “assignments” and “examination” to show to the University that they have completed or fulfilled the “course requirements” adequately to progress further. However, children in the university have to be “self-directed” and be “responsible” for their own knowledge and learning.

At School, learning for students is mostly “teacher-directed” and “closely monitored” by the teacher. Children have less “freedom” to decide whether they can skip classes or not. If they do so, they have to provide valid reasons for their absence.

In this transitional period, students learn to cope up and deal with the challenges. Whereas, what a child learns in school is the foundation for what he would learn in university.

NARA [144]

Answer:

Chile is similar to Venezuela in terms of arable land as the percentage of arable land in both the countries is below 4%.

Explanation:

 • The economies of the South American countries of Chile and Venezuela are majorly dependent on fishing and allied businesses as agriculture in these two countries is close to impossible owing to the unavailability of arable land.
 • The percentage of arable land in Chile is approximately 2% whereas the same for Venezuela is Approximately 3%. These negligible percentages of arable land leave the agricultural sector in the countries on the third spot after the services and industry sectors.

Overmier and Seligman have described the phenomenon of learned _________ as the tendency to feel powerless in the face of events
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

Overmier and Seligman have described the phenomenon of learned helplessness as the tendency to feel powerless in the face of events that we can't control.

In 1967, Overmier and Seligman conducted a research, which showed that dogs, once found in an uncontrollable situation such as unavoidable electric shocks, were incapable of escaping a different situation, although there was a possible escape in that situation. The phenomenon of learned helplessness is also commonly experienced by humans who, after repeatedly going through a stressful situation, believe they do not have control over the events. They fail to take any action, even if there is a possible solution.
