Social Studies

Children have fewer responsibilities in school as compared to when they are in college. In school, children have to be more responsible for their learning whereas, at university, children are not closely monitored or directed by the lecturers in “what” and “how” to learn.

Further Explanation:

Children have more “freedom” whether they attend classes/lectures or not or whether take notes or not. Students will be assessed and at least clear and pass their set “assignments” and “examination” to show to the University that they have completed or fulfilled the “course requirements” adequately to progress further. However, children in the university have to be “self-directed” and be “responsible” for their own knowledge and learning.

At School, learning for students is mostly “teacher-directed” and “closely monitored” by the teacher. Children have less “freedom” to decide whether they can skip classes or not. If they do so, they have to provide valid reasons for their absence.

In this transitional period, students learn to cope up and deal with the challenges. Whereas, what a child learns in school is the foundation for what he would learn in university.

attashe74 [19]

Answer:

The person who is honest to his work and who has strong moral principles and he follows those principles without failure.

Explanation:

Integrity, simply stated, is the ability to be fair in all situations. A person with integrity has strong moral values and ethics. Integrity forces a person to follow his values of honesty, loyalty and truth. Integrity also means to be complete and undivided, in both the physical and the mental stage.

When your values change from situation to situation, your integrity is lacking. A person who is having integrity is said as that person who would do nothing that humiliate others.

How did the Dutch West India company make its money?
Morgarella [4.7K]
N the 1600s, the Dutch West India Company was more powerful and successful than Microsoft, IBM, or General Motors today. The Company's thousands of employees had one primary goal: to make money. Investors in the Dutch West India Company were fortunate. Its annual profits went as high as 200 or 300 percent. (In comparison, a strong stock today might return yearly profits of 20 or 30 percent.) In the pursuit of profits, the Company traded commodities such as spices, sugar, fur, and slaves. It also fought battles against Spain to gain new territory.

The Dutch West India Company was an offshoot of the Dutch East India Company, which funded Henry Hudson's voyage to North America in 1609. If Hudson could find a secret shortcut to Asia, the Company would make even more profits.

Although Hudson failed at this mission, his dazzling reports of fur trading opportunities inspired merchants. About fifteen years later, the Company sent over some thirty families as colonists and workers. They called the new colony "New Amsterdam." Later renamed New York, it would grow into one of the greatest cities in the world.
