A1 Plumbing Service charges $35 per hour plus a $25 travel charge for a service call. Good Guys Plumbing Repair charges $40 per

hour for a service call with no travel charge. How many hours must a service call be for it to be better for you to call A1 Plumbing Service?

A1 = 35x+25

Good guys = 40x

35x+25 = 40x

subtract 3x x from each side

25 = 5x

divide each side by 5

x = 25/5 = 5

so 5 hours they would be the same cost, anything over 5 hours and A1 would be better

so X>5 for A1 to be the better price

What is differentiation ?

"Differentiation, in mathematics, process of finding the derivative, or rate of change, of a function. In contrast to the abstract nature of the theory behind it, the practical technique of differentiation can be carried out by purely algebraic manipulations, using three basic derivatives, four rules of operation, and a knowledge of how to manipulate functions.

The three basic derivatives (D) are: (1) for algebraic functions, D(xn) = nxn − 1, in which n is any real number; (2) for trigonometric functions, D(sin x) = cos x and D(cos x) = −sin x; and (3) for exponential functions, D(ex) = ex."

Let the length of the rope = r

Height of the balloon = h

we are given dr/dt = 15ft/sec

at any time t we know:

r = 125 + 15*t

By the Pythagoras theorem we know:

h^2 + 125^2 = r^2

We have to find dh/dt at time t = 20 sec

d/dh(h^2 + 125^2) = d/dt(r^2)

By chain rule:

d/dh(h^2 + 125^2)*dh/dt\\ = d/dr(r^2)*dr/dt\\2h*dh/dt = 2r* dr/dt\\h*dh/dt = r*dr/dt\\dh/dt = (r/h)*dr/dt

= [(125 + 15*20)/(425^2 - 125^2)^1/2]*15--------------------- at time t = 2

=15.69 ft/sec

Hence dh/dt = 15.69 ft/sec

Abby is half as old as her dad,and twice as old as her brother. If her brother is 9 years old,how old is her dad?
azamat
Well if Abby is twice the age of her bother and her brother is 9 then she is going to be 18 because 9x2=18, then it says that she is half her dads age so all you have to do is add 18+18 which equals 36

Suppose Ted, a sociologist, is interested in comparing the amount of time that husbands and wives in the United States each spen
lidiya [134]

Answer:

1. A matched-pairs t-test is valid, despite the sample being a small representation of the population, because the sample is a simple random sample and has a distribution with a single peak.

Step-by-step explanation:

The matched-pairs test is valid, for the reasons given in choice 1. Here's why:

 • We do have matched pairs, not a 2-sample t-test, because each two are paired by the house they live in. Husband and wife live together: it's safe to pair them. (This rules out option 5.)
 • Check conditions: The sample is large enough (fulfilling the sample size condition). The sample data is fairly normal, although we don't know the population data, and the sample size is over 40, so we consider it a fairly large sample (fulfilling the nearly normal condition). We don't know about outliers, but we'll have to assume Ted doesn't have any, because they aren't mentioned.

Find the least positive angle measurement that is coterminal with -230°.
Alex Ar [27]
The answer is Letter C - 130°

Coterminal Angles are angles that share a common terminal or end position. In finding the coterminal angle, you can add or deduct 360°. In this case, you are asked to get its positive coterminal angle. You will simply add 360° to -230°.

Solution: 360° + -230° = 130°
