The figurative language used in the statement is Simile since the man is likened to a dog due to his strong sharp sudden bites.

Also the phrase "strong sharp sudden" is an Alliteration since the letter "s" occurred many times in connected words.

They serve to catch the attention of the readers and also provide humor.

Translate the sonnet into modern speak. It does not have to follow Iambic Pentameter.
aivan3 [116]

Answer: I do not form judgments on the stars, but it seems to me that I know astrology. I cannot predict good or bad things - plagues, famines or the quality of a season. I cannot precisely predict all the hardships that someone will have to experience. I cannot tell princes if everything will be alright by looking at the heaven. What I can predict, however, is the future when I look into your eyes. In those reliable guides, I see that truth and beauty will only thrive if your attributes are passed on to a child. In any other case, I predict that when you die, so will truth and beauty.

Explanation:

Sonnet 14 is one of 154 sonnets written by William Shakespeare. It was written as a procreation sonnet within the Fair Youth sequence. In this poem, the speaker tells us about foreseeing the future. He claims that he cannot predict what is going to happen by looking at the stars and the sky. As he describes it, the eyes of a loved one will tell him everything instead.

Maurinko [17]

Answer:

Frankenstein is comparable to the Prometheus myth because both characters gave rise to life, both were talented and have lots of things to their advantage, but in the end, both were given to tragedy because of their quest for making the impossible as possible.

Which question would most likely be answered by reading the exposition of a story?
VladimirAG [237]

Really, that depends on the story you're reading. The story wouldn't tell where the author is born, the author could've researched another country to make the character act the way they do, so you could quickly eliminate that answer. Sometimes you can tell what decision the character will make if the book is easily predictable, like usually in teen fiction. Imagine a book where there's a good girl, she's very shy. She meets a bad boy, a player. You can easily predict that they will get together. I doubt that you will figure out that there are multiple themes just by reading the exposition. The exposition is the introduction, there's so much more to read after that. The last one sounds more like it, in the exposition, it immediately introduces the main character. It shows you the personality of the main character.

I hope this helped! Have a great day!
