Answer:

Domain={0,30},Range={0,600}

Step-by-step explanation:

Total umbrellas=30

Price of each umbrella=$20

m(u)=20u

where

u is number of umbrellas

m(u) total amount vendor makes by selling u number of umbrellas

So Practically,The extreme cases are

  • when the vendor sells 0 umbrellas/ no umbrellas
  • when he sells all the umbrellas

So Domain is {0,total number of umbrellas}={0,30}

Putting this extreme value of domains as u in function m(u),

we get the range of m(u)={0\times$20,30\times$20}

⇒ Range={0,$600}

Solve for x. (e^x-e^-x)/((e^x+e^-x)=t
Sergio [31]
\dfrac{e^x-e^{-x}}{e^x+e^{-x}}=t\\\\
\dfrac{e^{2x}-1}{e^{2x}+1}=t\\\\
e^{2x}-1=t(e^{2x}+1)\\\\
e^{2x}-1=e^{2x}t+t\\\\
e^{2x}-e^{2x}t=t+1\\\\
e^{2x}(1-t)=t+1\\\\
e^{2x}=\dfrac{t+1}{1-t}\\\\
e^{2x}=-\dfrac{t+1}{t-1}\\\\
2x=\ln\left(-\dfrac{t+1}{t-1}\right)\\\\
x=\dfrac{\ln\left(-\dfrac{t+1}{t-1}\right)}{2}\qquad t\in(-1,1)

If the perimeter of one face of a cube is 22.4 cm, determine, to the nearest hundredth, its lateral surface area. *
mr Goodwill [35]
22.4/4 = 5.6 cm

5.6^2 = 31.36 cm^2 per side

Since the later surface area only counts for 4/6 sides on the cube, (31.36)(4) = 125.44 cm^2

Haley can read 5/8 pages in 2/3 minutes how many pages can she read in one minute
Murljashka [212]

Given parameters:

Number of pages Haley can read = \frac{5}{8} pages

Time to read the pages = \frac{2}{3} min

Unknown:

Number of pages that can be read in 1 min = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem let us find Haley's rate;

       Rate  = \frac{Number of pages Haley can read}{Time }

 Input the parameters and find the rate;

     Rate  = \frac{5}{8} / \frac{2}{3}

     Rate  = \frac{5}{8}    x  \frac{3}{2}

      Rate = \frac{15}{16} pages/min

Now that we know the rate;

   In 1 min; number of pages Haley can read;

               Number of pages  = Rate x time

                Number of pages  = \frac{15}{16}  x   1  = \frac{15}{16}\frac{15}{16} pages

Haley can read pages \frac{15}{16}  in 1 minute.
