time? But old fools is the biggest fools there is. Can’t learn an old dog new tricks, as the saying is. But my goodness, he never plays them alike, two days, and how is a body to know what's coming? The best ways to describe Tom Sawyer´s character are that he is amusing, cunning and mischievous.

Amusing because he sometimes does funny things (“make me laugh”).

Cunning because he always comes up with something unexpected (“never plays them alike”) and he knows how far he can go (“He ´pears to know how long…”).

Mischievous because Tom always gets him annoyed ("...I get my dander up").

Since you are writing a poem, how will you use metaphors? (ASAP!! im timed!!)
aleksley [76]

The independant clause mean the simple subject which says that you can read a part of a sentence that makes a lot of sense. So in this sentence "Since you are writing a poem, how will you use metaphors?"

The dependent clause is the one that makes no sense while being alone.

In this sentence the dependent clause is Since you are writing a poem.

It makes no sense all alone in one sentence.

Now for the actual question answer is the independent clause.

The independent clause is how will you use metaphors?

I think that is the independent clause because it really makes sense even though it's a part of the question.
