Well,

Not sure about Frakenstein much, but Prometheus was warned by Zeus, he gave the "gift" of fire, got punished via daily being devoured by a vulture, and I forget if a teacher told him to do it or not, I don't think so though.

blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

Foreshadowing is when clues within the text suggest events will occur later in the story. In this quote, when Mr. White wishes for two hundred pounds, Herbert says that he doesn't see the money and he bets he never will. ... Foreshadowing can be used in a subtle text, for example a storm cloud coming to indicate danger.

examples: Sergeant Major Morris clearly indicates that he is afraid of the monkey's paw. For instance, his teeth chatter against the glass. Then when he tells the Whites that the previous owner had his first two wishes granted but his third was for death, Morris hints at the danger connected to the monkey's paw.

Answer Aristotle divided animals into those with blood and those without. Carl Linnaeus created the first hierarchical biological classification for animals in 1758 with his Systema Naturae, which Jean-Baptiste Lamarck expanded into 14 phyla by 1809. In 1874, Ernst Haeckel divided the animal kingdom into the multicellular Metazoa (now synonymous with Animalia) and the Protozoa, single-celled organisms no longer considered animals. In modern times, the biological classification of animals relies on advanced techniques, such as molecular phylogenetics, which are effective at demonstrating the evolutionary relationships between animal taxa.

Animals have several characteristics that set them apart from other living things. Animals are eukaryotic and multicellular, unlike bacteria, which are prokaryotic, and unlike protists, which are eukaryotic but unicellular. Unlike plants and algae, which produce their own nutrients animals are heterotrophic, feeding on organic material and digesting it internally. With very few exceptions, animals breathe oxygen and respire aerobically. All animals are motile (able to spontaneously move their bodies) during at least part of their life cycle, but some animals, such as sponges, corals, mussels, and barnacles, later become sessile. The blastula is a stage in embryonic development that is unique to most animals, allowing cells to be differentiated into specialised tissues and organs.

Answer:

A. Henry Ford and Alfred Sloan represent different influential forces in the development of American manufacturing.

Explanation:

While Henry Ford made automobiles more affordable by changing production techniques and improving working hours and wages, Alfred Sloan associated automobiles with prestige and luxury through advertising and marketing and setting up the country’s first national consumer credit agency. The passage elaborates how both of them in very different ways changed the picture of American manufacturing. Hence, they both represent different influential forces in its development, which is the main idea of the passage.

While both options C and D are factually correct, they both cover only one half of the passage each and not the main idea of it, in its totality. Option B, on the other hand, is incorrect as both Henry Ford and Alfred Sloan made landmark changes during the first half of the twentieth century, with the latter focusing on products that provided prestige.
