It is a measure of the not usable energy in a system. It let us know the disorder degree within a process and allows us to distinguish between the energy that is completely used, from the unusable energy that is lost. Explains why some physical processes occur in determined ways by measuring the disorder degree in a system at a molecular level.

It is considered the demonstration that when something is not controlled, it might get disordered and transformed. And when the system is in a chaotic state, a new stabilized system might appear from it.
