Identify the sentence structure. Although he was drafted into the Vietnam War, Muhammad Ali refused to fight. (1 point) simple s
fgiga [73]

Answer:

The correct answer is: c, a complex sentence

Explanation:

This is an example of a complex sentence. A complex sentence is compounded by two statements, one is the independent clause and the second one is the dependent clause. The first one can be a sentence alone, it does not need another statement to make sense, however the dependent clause cannot be a sentence by itself even though it has a subject and a verb, because it does not have sense by itself, it needs the independent clause to have a meaning

dependent clause: Although he was drafted into the Vietnam War

independent clause: Muhammad Ali refused to fight.

What can be strong hook or attention-grabber that includes a strong statement, relevant
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

Strong statement

Explanation:

Although a question might be hooking, I would recommend avoiding them if you're writing based on formality.

If not, a question would be the best way to grab the reader's attention, because

statistics can bore the reader, especially if it's at the beginning

quotations might not be an efficient way to start out this essay; you should use in the middle of your essay while supporting evidence

However..

A strong statement is the best answer.

It can be compelling as well as formal, especially when using specific words to portray what you need to state

5. Marlow says that the heads only show Kurtz’s lack of restraint. Do you think this is true? At this point, do you think that M
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

Explanation:

Marlow was saying that he wasn't really surprised although, Conrad seemed to show that the white men were as bad as or even more savage than the African counterpart. It is likely to be a total shift in morality. If he had had a lack of restraint then it should have left a while back.

Marlow also didn't seem to want to go against the rumors of Kurtz. Conrad on the other hand, is interested in keeping the rumor mill going, for whatever reasons. Marlow also had become a reliable narrator but he somehow was still biased towards Kurtz to becoming an absolutely reliable narrator.
