Explanation:
In order to find out which place is the better buy, you have to find out how much each apple costs.

To find this out you can simply divide 1.08 by 3 to find out how much each apple costs, assuming each apple costs the same amount.
1.08 \div 3 = 0.36
So, each apple at the Quick Market costs 36 cents.

Now you have to find out the costs of the apples at Stop and Save, using the same steps as before.
1.10 + \div 5 = 0.22
Now you just compare the two, and see which one costs less. In this case, apples at Stop and Save is the better buy.

Answer:

Stop and Save

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the cost of one apple in each place.

<u>Quick Market</u>:

Divide the total cost with the amount of apples:

1.08/3 = 0.36

The cost for one apple in <em>quick market </em>is $0.36

<u>Stop and Save</u>:

Divide the total cost with the amount of apples:

1.10/5 = 0.22

The cost for one apple in <em>Stop and Save</em> is $0.22

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$0.22 < $0.36 ∴ <em>Stop and Save</em><em> </em>is cheaper than Quickmarket by $0.14, making Stop and Save your answer.

Find the median of the following: 14.8, 16.2, 4.8, 12.1, and 6.9. If needed, round your answer to the nearest tenth.
Alenkinab [10]

Answer: 12.1

Step-by-step explanation: The median is the middle number  in the data set when the data set is written from least to greatest.

So let's write our data set from least to greatest.

<u><em>least to greatest</em></u> 4.8, 6.9, 12.1, 14.8, 16.2

So the median will be the middle number or 12<em>.</em>1.

Gasoline mileage of a car is 40 mph. On a smooth road, it’s milage is 5% higher. What is it’s milea on a smooth road?
scZoUnD [109]

It helps to think of a simpler problem. Let's say mpg is 20 and 10% higher on a smooth road.

How many miles will you get with one gallon on a regular road?

How many more miles will you get on a smooth road? 10% more, right? How much is that?

OK - so you've now solved a simpler problem. Use the exact some process to solve your, more complicated, problem.
