Answer: The use of atomic bombs to end the war against Japan ushered in a new era of nuclear diplomacy that held the fate of the world in the balance.

Explanation:

The United States emerged from the Second World War as the world’s pre-eminent military and economic power. America exercised a commanding role in international trade and was the only nation in possession of atomic bombs. After the end of the war, the US and the Japanese National Institute of Health established the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission to conduct studies on the survivors of the atomic bombs. Even in 2015, 70 years after the bombings, hospitals in those cities are still treating thousands of people who survived the blast but are suffering from the long-term health effects of nuclear radiation.

Which of these statements is the best historical conclusion about the cause of the sinking of USS Maine?
Minchanka [31]

The explosion of the Maine in Cuba on February 15, 1898 was ruled by a Naval Court of Inquiry in March of 1898 as caused by a mine explosion. Subsequantly many different views of what caused the explosion have been put forward to a fire in her coal bunkers to a fire in her powder magazines. In 1976 a group of American Naval Investigators concluded that a fire ignited the Maines magazines.

The answer to the question however remains that experts cannot definitively say what the cause of the explosion was.
