The statement that described NOW’s workplace goals are: NOW wanted to end gender discrimination in the workplace, NOW fought for better maternity leave policies and NOW wanted better job training for women.

NOW was founded in 1966. It is a feminist organization in the United States of America and it is made up of 50 chapters in all the States in the US including Washington DC.

Further Explanation

The feminist pressure group was created by 28 women in June at the National Conference of Commissions on the Status of Women.

Also, in addition to the 28 women, another 21 men and women became the founders of the organization during NOW conference in 1966 making the number of founders to be 49.

The abysmal performance of the “Equal Employment Opportunity Commission” to implement the civil right act of 1964 motivated the founders to establish the National organization for women.

The founders were not happy with the way the Federal government handled the new anti-discrimination laws.

The organization was created to empower women to put pressure on the government, employers to ensure equal opportunities for both sexes.

Some of the goals of NOW are as follows:

 • To increase the number of women attending graduates schools and colleges
 • To increase the number of women employed in professional jobs
 • To increase the number of women appointed to public offices and many others.
