Answer: 1b. Filters the air 2b. Less air reaches the lungs

Explanation:

Answer 1: Mucous is a sticky aqueous secretion produce inside the nose, trachea, bronchus and the entire respiratory tract. The sticky nature of the mucus causes the adhesion of dust, pollutant particles and air borne microbes entering the respiratory tract along with the air. This way the mucus helps in filtering the air.

Answer 2: Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchioles, the tubes which carries the oxygenated air into the lungs get blocked due to the accumulation of mucus. Therefore, less air reaches the lungs.

Mucus in nose helps us to filters the air which may contain dust particles and foreign particles. Bronchitis is an inflammation of lining of bronchial tubes and due to inflammation mucus accumulates in bronchioles and thus less air reaches to the lungs.

The answer is molecular clocks.

Molecular clocks use rates of mutation to measure evolutionary time. This technique is based on the fact that mutations add up at a fairly constant rate in the DNA of species that evolved from a common ancestor. The more mutations that happened in each lineage, the greater is the differences between these lineages and vice versa.
