A

iron and nickel are highly ferromagnetic metals. They are the main metals in the earth's core. The outer core is molten and the metals exist mainly in ion form. The molten outer core churns due to the rotation of the earth forming funnel-shaped hurricane-like structures. As the iron and nickel ions get span in the giant hurricanes, the numerous loops in the hurricanes act like electric currents. This consequently causes electromagnetic fields to form around  these ‘hurricanes’.

Explanation:

Due to the enormous nature of the outer core and the giant hurricanes in this earth's layer, the electromagnetic fields formed extended outwards from the earth towards outer space. This field is most significant in protecting the earth from high energy electromagnetic waves from the sun. This radiation if it were to reach earth's surface would erode the earth’s atmosphere and cause genetic mutations to organisms on earth.

Which items describe possible solutions to air pollution?
Radda [10]

Following are the correct options for this question:

  • Build more windmills
  • Develop cost-efficient solar energy
  • Improve gas mileage in cars
  • Reduce the use of nonrenewable energy sources

Any undesirable change occurs in the air due to addition of pollutants is called air pollution. The major air pollutants are sulfur dioxide which is released from the combustion of fossil fuels like coal, petroleum and from factories. Bedsides, sulfur dioxide dust and smokes are other pollutants. Building of more wind mills and developing low cost solar energy will reduce air pollution as they will provide clean energy and will reduce dependency on coal burning in thermal power plant. Improving as mileage in cars will also reduce emission of sulfur dioxide, hence reduce air pollution. Building of more wind mills and developing low cost solar energy are renewable source of energy, will reduce use of nonrenewable energy sources such as fossil fuels.
