The public works administration was part of the new deal made during the great depression to build public projects/works like construction of dams, hospitals,schools which will see people greatly employed and relived from the great depression. in the first year of this $3.3 billion was budgeted for this works and $6 billion totally. this provided jobs for the citizens an helped to revive the economy.

work progress administration did similar public works but focused more on employing unskilled labor. this was the only contrast between the two agencies
