Answer:

The correct answer is letter "B" and "D": As we prepared our presentation for the KLM proposal, Jim revised the PowerPoint, Linda double checked the numbers, and I created a handout, As receptionist, his duties include answering the phone, forwarding calls, and taking messages. Below the lobby, on the first floor, and off to the left, you will find a check-in desk.

Explanation:

Parallel structure refers is a technique used in writing to list different items or actions using the same criteria. In other words, if the items listed are actions, all the verbs must be in the same time and person. For instance:

<em>Marcus was </em><u><em>chatting</em></u><em>, </em><u><em>listening</em></u><em> to music, and </em><u><em>doing</em></u><em> his homework at the same time. </em>

<em />

All the verbs above are in the past continuous tense and second person. Therefore, in the question, the sentences that represent parallel structure are:

  • <em>As we </em><u><em>prepared</em></u><em> our presentation for the KLM proposal, Jim </em><u><em>revised</em></u><em> the PowerPoint, Linda </em><u><em>double-checked</em></u><em> the numbers, and I </em><u><em>created</em></u><em> a handout. </em>
  • <em>As a receptionist, his duties include </em><u><em>answering</em></u><em> the phone, </em><u><em>forwarding</em></u><em> calls, and </em><u><em>taking</em></u><em> messages. </em><u><em>Below the lobby</em></u><em>, </em><u><em>on the first floor</em></u><em>, and </em><u><em>off to the left</em></u><em>, you will find a check-in desk.</em>

A company sells 15,000 units of its single product annually. Annual revenues are $450,000, variable costs are $315,000, and fixe
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

Decrease in profit = $9,000

Explanation:

The impact on the profit would be the sum of the increase in contribution from the special order less the lost contribution by forgoing the standard order.

Accepting the special order of 3,000 units would mean losing standard contribution on 2,000 units from the current sales unit of 15,000. Remember the company only has excess capacity of 1, 000 units i.e (16000-15,000) So, the additional 2,000 units would need to be forgone at standard price.

Variable cost per unit = 315,000/15,000 = $21

Standard selling price = 450,000/15,000 = $30

Special order price = $24

                                                                                                          $

Additional contribution from special order = (24-21) × 3,000 =  9,000

Lost contribution from forgoing standard order (30-21) × 2000 =(<u>18,000)</u>

Decrease in profit                                                                          <u> (9,000)</u>

By accepting the special order, the company would lose $9,000 of its profit

wariber [46]
<span>New managers are often surprised to find that things like supply chain problems, customers and meetings take up most of their time. Rather than the vision they have upon being promototwd of spending their time leading a team. This can often lead to an adjustment period where a recently hired manager will need to learn to better divide their time between focusing on the clerical process and customers while also keeping a balance where employees are managed.</span>

Charles Henri is considering investing $36,000 in a project that is expected to provide him with cash inflows of $12,000 in each
Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

At a discount rate of zero percent this investment has a net present value of 6000, but at the relevant discount rate of 17 percent the project's net present value is -5739.

Explanation:

See document attached.  To get the net present value,  we make a cash-flow in excel.

At moment  the investment is =$-36,000

Moment 1 and 2 = $12,000 /moment 3 =$18000

We calculate the Net cash flow (that is the difference between benefits and cost).

To get  net present value,  we use VNA formula.

=VNA(required rate of return; Net cash flow from moment 0 to moment 3 )+Net cash flow at moment 0

Situation 1

Interest rate 0%

Net Present Value (NPV) 6000

Situation 2

Interest rate 17%

Net Present Value (NPV) -5739

Describe one practical application of cost principles
vovangra [49]
Cost principle is an accounting concept wherein the initial recording of the asset, liability, or equity is based on its acquisition cost.

It is beneficial in recording assets and liabilities that are short-term only. Inventories or expenses are recorded at cost.

Long term assets and liabilities are not suitable for the cost principle concept because of the factor of time. There are assets and liabilities that fluctuate in value as time goes by and these changes in values must always be recorded or noted down every end of the accounting period.
