Answer:

The correct sequence of events in the polypeptide production is- Initiation-elongation- termination.

Explanation:

The process of formation of polypeptide is known as translation. In the translation, process ribosomes get attach to mRNA and help the specific tRNA to get a site to base-pair with triplet codons present on mRNA and add the specific amino acid to the chain. The translation process has three events.

1. Initiation: In initiation ribosomal subunits bind to the mRNA and formation of peptide bonds between two amino acids takes place which are added by specific tRNA.

2. Elongation: It includes the peptide chain elongation up to the last amino acid.

3. Termination: Termination is carried by releasing the polypeptide chain and dissociation of ribosomal subunits from mRNA.

Which best describes the outcome of DNA replication?
defon

Answer: The correct answer is -

The new DNA molecule consists of one new strand and one old strand of DNA.

DNA replication is a process of formation of two molecules of DNA from a single DNA molecule (which is double stranded).

In this process, the two DNA strands of the original DNA are first separated so that the template strands are exposed.

Using the template strands, enzyme DNA polymerase adds nucleotides (in the direction 5' to 3') in a complementary manner-

For adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine in the template strand, thymine adenine, cytosine, and guanine are added respectively.

The new DNA molecule consists of one new strand and one old strand of DNA. That is why, it is also called semiconservative replication.

Thus, option third is the right answer.
