This completely depends on your own point of view, if theis is an essay prompt, make your thesis statement whichever one you believe and then support it in the following paragraphs of your essay.
Personal pronouns, "I, I'm, I'll I'd" etc. must be capitalised. As for the middle of a sentence, I'm contains "I" and so therefore it is capitalised.
