Grammar clauses can be used alone or in combination with other clauses or sentences. Words and phrases are the parts of language that make up clauses. Clauses can be used  to improve both writing and reading. if you can't distinguish between a phrase, a dependent clause, and an independent clause, you will have trouble with writing fragments instead of sentences. Sentence fragments are confusing for readers, because they do not make sense they are not full sentences. Sentence fragments don't contain any usable information and no subject or anything that would help a reader follow what the writer is trying to say. Sentence fragments look like sentences but they are not. So knowing how to use clauses helps to make writing more understandable.
