Answer:

(C) 11.11%

Explanation:

In this question, we use the Capital Asset Pricing Model formula which is shown below:

Expected rate of return = Risk-free rate + Beta × (Required rate of return - risk-free rate)

The beta is not given so first we have to compute it. The calculation is shown below:

Stock A = (Stock amount ÷ total amount) × Beta

             = ( $1,075,000 ÷ $3,000,000) × 1.20

             = 0.3583 × 1.20

             = 0.43

Stock B = (Stock amount ÷ total amount) × Beta

             = ($675,000 ÷ $3,000,000) × 0.50

             = 0.225 × 0.50

             = 0.1125

Stock C = (Stock amount ÷ total amount) × Beta

             = ( $750,000 ÷ $3,000,000) × 1.40

             = 0.25 × 1.40

             = 0.35

Stock D = (Stock amount ÷ total amount) × Beta

             = ( $500,000 ÷ $3,000,000) × 0.75

             = 0.1667 × 0.75

             = 0.1251

The total value of beta equals to

= 0.43 + 0.1125 +  0.35 + 0.1251

= 1.017

Now put these values to the above formula

So, the value would equal to

= 5% + 1.017 × (11% - 5%)

= 5% + 6.102%

= 11.102%

just olya [345]

Answer:

<u><em>(It seems that the amount in question is wrongly typed as 65,000 instead of 65,000,000)</em></u>

The correct answer is $40,000.000.

Explanation:

The answer is calculated from guidlines provided in IFRS 10.

As per accounting standards the price paid above fair value of net asset is taken as goodwill. Goodwill is accounted as asset in balance sheet.

As fair value is not given we will assume that book values are equal to fair value. The detail calculations are given below.

Consideration paid               $ 65,000,000

FV of net asset                      ($ 25,000,000)

Goodwill                                 $ 40,000,000

Locus Company has total fixed costs of $121,000. Its product sells for $67 per unit and variable costs amount to $57 per unit. N
Trava [24]

Answer:

13,915 units

Explanation:

With regards to the above, we need to determine first the target or desired profit.

Desired profit = $121,000 × 15% = $18,150

The next step is to calculate the contribution margin, which is the difference between selling price and variable cost.

Contribution margin = Sales - Variable cost

Contribution margin = $67 - $57

Contribution margin = $10 per unit

Target sales is therefore;

Target sales = (Fixed cost + Target profit) / Contribution margin

Target sales = ($121,000 + $18,150) / $10

Target sales = $139,150 / $10

Target sales = 13,915 units
