Answer:

Option B, that his time in a free territory meant that he was a free man, is the right answer.

Explanation:

In the United States, Dred Scott was a slave who appealed for his freedom from slavery. He is best known for the very lawsuit "Dred Scott v. Sandford" that he registered in the court of the United States to get freedom from slavery. He claimed that he and his wife had spent four years in a territory where slavery was illegal and therefore, they are eligible for their freedom.

However, the ruling, in this case, was given by the Supreme Court of the United States on 6th March 1857. The Supreme Court asserted that Dred Scott who was residing in the territory of the free state of the United States was not obliged to his freedom and that the African -Americans were not and could nevermore be subject of the U.S. Citizenship.

"The state of California is a major world power. It has the 10th largest economy in the world, a population greater than Canada,
GuDViN [60]
The state of California is bound by the USA constitution under the doctrine of federalism, which points out that the state's constitution is subservient to the federal laws. The state has no foreign powers to enter into any treaty with foreign powers,as that is a reserved power of the federal government. should there be a conflict between a state laws and the federal government, the latter's shall supersede, which implies that California can not make any laws to effect any such a desire. In addition, the California state is a member of the USA nation, whereby its residents shares common goals and culture with the rest of the populace.

What was Theodore Roosevelt's famous saying “Speak softly and carry a big stick” a reference to? A. American domestic policy B.
torisob [31]

Answer:

B. American foreign policy

Explanation:

Roosevelt believed that in light of the country's recent military successes, it was unnecessary to use force to achieve foreign policy goals, so long as the military could threaten force. This belief, and his strategy of “speaking softly and carrying a big stick,” shaped much of Roosevelt's foreign policy.
