I was born in Tuckahoe, near Hillsborough, and about twelve miles from Easton, in Talbot county, Maryland. I have no accurate kn
owledge of my age, never having seen any authentic record containing it. By far the larger part of the slaves know as little of their ages as horses know of theirs, and it is the wish of most masters within my knowledge to keep their slaves thus ignorant. Which of the following main ideas is developed and supported by this passage? A slave is no better than an animal. Justice for slaves is impossible. Hypocrisy in religion is used to justify slavery. Keeping slaves makes slaveholders inhuman.
This is the best option because, first of all, the fact that a person is considered a slave is enough evidence that proves that society is clearly favoring one group over another, that it is not being fair, reasonable nor impartial. Furthermore, not only do some people are treated as inferiors and are denied one of their most basic rights - liberty -, but they are also denied their rights to receive education, to have opportunities to grow and to have a basic document like a birth certificate. All of these indicates that the main idea is that justice for slaves seems impossible.
