Further Explanation:

Ku Klux Klan was a racist vigilante group who suppressed black civil rights violently after the civil war ended. It was founded in year 1865 and within span of five years it was extended to almost every Southern State. Their main focus was to become a medium for Southern Resistance to the Republican Party’s politics of Reconstruction which aimed at establishing economic and political welfare and equality for blacks. The members of Ku Klux Klan started a campaign of violence and Intimidation which was directed at white and black republican leaders. The civil rights movement that took place in 1960 saw a surge of Ku Klux Klan which included Bombings of black schools and increase of violence against black people in churches. The Primary goal of the Ku Klux Klan was to restore supremacy of republicans once again in the Southern reconstruction. Members of Klan usually used to carry out their attacks during nights wearing face masks. Activity of Klan was particularly seen in the regions where the population of Blacks was in minority. The most active zone of Klan activity was Carolina and in year 1871, Nearly 500 members of Klan group attacked Union county jail and killed eight black prisoners.
