<em>C. A picture of a horse used to write the word horse. </em>

<u>Pictograms</u> are an example of visual language used to convey a <u>specific message</u> through an <u>image</u> or a pictograph.  

These pictures are the first example of writing found in ancient history and have been used by <u>Egyptians</u>,  called <em>hieroglyphics</em>, in which images illustrated words.
