There is no picture attached, so I'm just going to assume that after Peter receives the message, he takes it very seriously.

He follows the instructions to board the boat on Tuesday at midnight to intercept the spy who is helping blindside the King of France.

He rides his steed until he is so exhausted, he falls off and passes out in the middle of the road.

A carriage finds him and takes him to the inn where they are staying.

Peter wakes up refreshed, with a beautiful woman leaning over him, stroking his forehead.

He asks where he is and where his clothes are. After asking questions of her own, the woman finds out Peter is on a quest and tries to kill him. Peter finds out then and there that the woman is the spy he was sent to intercept.

He tries to overpower her, but her guards come in and tie him up. Peter is forced to go with them to the boat at midnight.

The guards find that the ship captain is dead with the rest of the crew and Peter's friends save him and capture the spy.

France is saved.

A la Carte by Tanita S. Davis What action led to a shift in advancement in the events of the story? (AKS 3)
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

The shift in events occurs when Elaine's crush moves away from the neighborhood.

Explanation:

In the book A la Carte by Tanita S. Davis, the basic event that occurs which led to a shift in the advancement of the story was when Sims the boyfriend of Elaine also known as Lainey left her suddenly leaving Elaine lonely and dejected. Elaine is portrayed in the story as a lively girl who hoped to have a career in cooking.

As a teen, she developed an interest in a young boy named Sims. Sims did not truly love Elaine because even though he told her all about the misunderstandings with his parents, he never considered or informed Elaine when he left the neighborhood. For the period she was dejected, Elaine's cooking as well as the consoling words from her mother helped her have a better view of matters.
