To find this answer, you must first find out how much each car makes them. You do 144 divided by 24 to do this. You get the answer 6. Which means that they make $6 for each car washed.

Now that you know how much each car wash makes them, you multiply 6 by 30 to get how much they earned on Sunday.

6 x 30= 180.

So, they earned B.$180 on Sunday

In each case, are the two events dependent or independent? Toss a dime, and then toss a quarter. Pick a card from a deck of card
Mkey [24]

Two events are independent if the knowledge of the first does not affect the probabilities of the outcomes of the second.

The first case represents independent events. In fact, when you toss the dime, you have no further information on the result of the tossing of the quarter - it's still heads or tails with probability 50/50.

On the other hand, the second case represents dependent events. In fact, when you pick the first card, you have probability 1/52 of getting any card from the deck. Since you keep the card before picking the next one, the second picking will not have the same probability: assume the first pick was the ace of hearts. For the second pick, you are sure that the ace of hearts can't be picked, and every other card has probability 1/51 of being picked. In other words, the knowledge of the first pick - the ace of hearts - changed the probabilities of the second pick, so the events are dependent.

A-2=-1 + 2a-4-1

send me the work please! (solving equations with variables on both sides)
Vladimir [108]

The value of "a" is 4

Solution:

Given expression is:

a - 2 = -1 + 2a - 4-1

The above expression involves variables and constants

A variable is a symbol that represents an unknown number

Here the variable is "a"

Constants are fixed numbers like 1, 2 etc

From given expression:

a - 2 = -1 + 2a - 4-1

Move the varibale "2a" from right side to left side of equation

When, 2a is moved from R.H.S to L.H.S, it becomes -2a

a -2a - 2 = -1 -4-1

Now move the constant -2 from left side to right side of equation

Similarly, when -2 is moved from L.H.S to R.H.S, it becomes +2

a-2a = -1-4-1+2

Now add the variables on left side of equation

-a = -1-4-1+2

Now add the constants on right side of equation

-a = -6+2\\\\-a = -4

Cancel the negative sign on both sides of equation

a=4

Thus the value of "a" is 4
