<span>Nations must acquire new territories and become world powers in order to survive--Social Darwinism is the theory that society must adjust and change or it will die out.

In terms of global power, Social Darwinism states a country must grow and advance or be conquered. This theory supports the concept of imperialism as those that become the imperial power were evolving while the conquered were unfit to survive in a global system. The nations with the biggest empires would have the most resources and would acquire the most power to protect themselves in the global game of chess. </span>

The best option would be "<span>Nations must acquire new territories and become world powers in order to survive," since this extending the individual idea of Darwinism to nation-states. </span>
